Frances was born in moreton on the 19th April 1882, her birth wasn't registered however until 29th June that year. She was the seventh child of William Charles (or Charles William) COBB and Georgina BARNES. A year before in 1881 the family were living in Moreton common, and I would imagine were still there at the time of Frances birth.

In the 1891 census, 8 year old Frances is found living in a cottage in Affpuddle, Dorset, with her parents, with her sisters Olive and Jemima and her brother Walter. It would seem that her siblings Jane, Robert, Albert and Martha had already left home.

I believe that she lost her father, Charles William in 1896, and I am looking to obtain a copy of his death certificate in due course to prove this.

In 1901, Frances was in service as a domestic servant with the Page family in Brownlow Street, Weymouth.

On Valentines day 1906, Frances married Albert Edward Ayles at the parish Church Melcombe Regis. At that time both her and Albert were living with Frances brother Albert Alfred Cobb at 8 Great George Street, Weymouth. Albert Alfred and her sister Jemima Kate were witnesses to the wedding.

In November 1906 Frances gave birth to her first child, a daughter, Mabel Ayles. Just under a year later the she had a son, my grandfather, Albert William George Ayles, and at this time they were living at 16 Holly Road, Weymouth.

At some point in time she moved again and i know that at the time of her death in December 1943, she was living at 65 Newstead Road, Weymouth. She was 61 years of age when she died of Kidney failure.
