Ernest was born on 11th June 1897 at 11 Richmond Place in Lambeth, London. At the time of the census on the 31st March 1901, he was tree years old and still living at 11 Richmond Place, with his parents. He married at St. Anne's cgurch, Miles Street vauxhall on the 24th May 1920 and at that time gave his address as 12 Miles Street, the same as his fiancee Beatrice Elizabth Barnes. Also at the time of his wedding his occupation was given as a Railway Fireman. I know from family knowledge that he served as a train driver / Fireman in France during the first world war. He was witness to the marriage of his son Ernest at his wedding in 1945 and again was listed as a Railway driver. He died suddenly on the fifteenth of September 1965 whilst on holiday in Devon.
